Identify the forum: National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC), state commissions, or private complaint portals like Voxya, ConsumerCourt.in.
Distinguish official vs private: NCDRC decisions are public record and cannot be removed. Private portal complaints ARE removable via IT Act.
IT Act notice to private portals: for complaints on private complaint portals with false allegations, formal Section 79 notice.
Criminal defamation: false complaints on private portals that contain fabricated facts are actionable under BNS 2023 s.356 (formerly IPC 499/500).
